We are about to enter into 2020 which is not only a new year but also the start of a new decade. I feel personally feel that both are very significant. I sense there will be a fulfilling of what God has spoken to me and my family.
O LORD, … You do such wonderful things! You planned them long ago, and now you have accomplished them. (Isa 25:1 NLT)
Isaiah sings this praise song to God because of the things God had accomplished for His people. When God designs things for us, He will complete them. What do you think God wants to accomplish or complete for you?
Twenty in the Bible can speak of the end of a waiting period. Twenty years Jacob waited to get his wives and possessions back. For twenty years the children of Israel waited to be freed by King Jabin of Canaan. Solomon waited twenty years to build the house of God and his own house then he saw the fulfillment of his efforts.
2020 is a double portion year consisting of two twenties or double twenties. 2020 will be the double portion fulfillment of the things God has promised you or perhaps the completion of the things you have planned for years. This year is a time to step into the promise that you have waited for. It is the year in which you might see your plans and the plans God has for you completed.
This decade could also be a continual unveiling of the completion of those plans as each year goes by. Every year for nine years bearing the number twenty twice with an additional number. This decade could be a double portion fulfillment or achievement of what we have been waiting for.
Have you been waiting on something for twenty years?
Have you been promised something years ago and it has not happened yet?
What have you planned for and have been waiting on?
What plans has God promised you that are not fulfilled yet?
What has God been saying to you about 2020? I would love to hear what He has impressed on you.
Let us put our lives, families, and ministries in God’s hands for He is the one who will complete the plans He has for you.
Have a blessed and prosperous New Year.
