CONFESSION OF A CHRISTIAN

Racism is defined as prejudice, discrimination, or antagonism directed against someone of a different race based on the belief that one's own race is superior. Webster defines racism as a belief ... that racial differences produce an inherent superiority of a particular race.

As a Christian racism should have no part of me since God created all races and none are superior. “From one human being He created all races of people and made them live throughout the whole earth.” Act 17:26 (GNT)

I must confess...

"From one human being He created all races of people..."

Acts 17:26 (GNT)

I am not to compare myself with others. “We do not dare to classify or compare ourselves with some who commend themselves. When they measure themselves by themselves and compare themselves with themselves, they show their ignorance.” 2 Cor 10:12 (BSB)

I am to love others more than myself. “All the Law says can be summed up in the command to love others as much as you love yourself.” Gal 5:14 (GNT)

I am not to discredit others and keep track of their violations toward me.  "Love is kind...It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs." 1 Cor 13:4,5 (NIV)

I am given God’s Spirit and nature to act and love more like Him. “The Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness…” Gat 5:22 (NLT)

I am to be like and be close to God so I must love everyone. “God is love, and all who live in love live in God, and God lives in them.” 1 John 4:16 (NLT)

My prayer…

Loving Heavenly Father,

I acknowledge that You fathered, by creating, every human race. All You created was good and pleased You. So, I will not think negative of your creation or any other human being.

I confess I have thought I was better than others. It is hidden in my heart but nevertheless very present. I repent and renounce that pride and prejudice and ask You to forgive me and cleanse me of all arrogance with the precious blood of Jesus.

I humble myself before You and ask You to fill me with Your Holy Spirit so that You can grow in me Your nature and love for others

I choose to love others as much as myself and live in love and live close to You.

I thank You for showing mercy to me cleanses me of all my arrogance and foolishness in thinking I am better than others.

In Jesus name,

Amen.
