HOW IS YOUR FAITH?
Do you remember when Jesus cursed a fig tree to teach His disciples the importance of faith and passion in prayer? Then later they returned to find the tree wilted and Jesus commanded, “Have faith in God.”
Jesus was preparing His disciples for situations in which they would need faith to take authority in the spiritual realm to change things in the natural. That is why your faith needs to be strong during this season.
"So, Jesus answered and said to them, “Have faith in God.” (Mark 11:22)
Jack Hayford said, “Real faith lays hold of the Faith-giver (Eph. 2:8), who holds all power for every need, and trusts Him to answer our prayer as He promised He would do. As faith-challenging situations rise, turn to the Lord. He is waiting for you to call upon Him.”
This morning I’m prompted by the Holy Spirit to check the condition of my faith. How is yours? Here is why your faith is so important.
It is by faith you are saved (Eph 2:8)
It is by faith you are healed (Matt 9:22)
It is by faith we do miracles (Acts 6:8)
It is by faith our hearts are purified (Acts 15:9)
It is by faith that we are righteous (Rom 4:5)
It is by faith that we are receive the Holy Spirit (Gal 3:2)
It is by faith that we draw near to God (Heb 10:22)
It is by faith that we hear and believe (Rom 10:17)
It is by faith that we prophesy and exhort others (Rom 12:6)
It is by faith that we offer spiritual sacrifices (Heb 11:4)
It is by faith that we shield ourselves from demonic attacks (Eph 6:16)
It is by faith that we stand (2 Cor 1:24)
It is by faith that we walk through life (2 Cor 5:7)
It is by faith that we live (Heb 10:38)
Remember faith is the proof of what we hope for and the evidence of what we cannot see. (Heb 11:1). We must grow in our faith which is developed through struggle, trial, challenges and difficulties. These things test your belief—your confidence and trust in God. “Fight the good fight of the faith.” (1 Tim 6:12 ESV)
I encourage you to “examine yourselves to see if your faith is genuine. Test yourselves.” (2 Cor 13:5 NLT). “Let your roots grow down into him, and let your lives be built on him. Then your faith will grow strong in the truth…” (Col 2:7 NLT)
You need your faith to be strong, healthy and vibrant right now because God wants to do great things in and through you. So focus on the greatness and power of God. Read His Word and build yourself up in your most holy faith.
